Nestled in the vibrant neighborhood of Lake City, Seattle, Nasai Teriyaki is a delightful destination for lovers of Japanese and Chinese cuisine seeking authentic, satisfying flavors in generous portions. This local gem specializes in expertly crafted teriyaki dishes alongside a rich array of stir-fried and wok-prepared meals that promise to transport your palate with each bite.
At Nasai Teriyaki, their Park Teriyaki stands out as a shining example of perfectly marinated, tender meat glazed with a delicate balance of sweet and savory. The Chicken and Katsu Yakisoba bring a comforting mix of stir-fried noodles and crispy breaded chicken, delivering a delightful interplay of textures and flavors. Meanwhile, dishes like Mongolian Beef and General Tso's Chicken showcase the bold, vibrant notes of traditional Chinese cooking, with mouthwatering spices and sauces that cling lovingly to each piece.
The menu’s diversity is impressive: whether you crave the silky richness of Broccoli Beef or a lighter yet equally flavorsome Tofu Teriyaki, there is something for every appetite. Their combination plates, such as Chicken & Katsu or Beef & Gyoza, offer a bit of everything, perfect for those who love to sample multiple dishes in one meal.
What truly elevates the dining experience here is the love and care poured into every detail. Customers repeatedly praise the quality of the rice, noting its perfectly sticky, fragrant texture that speaks volumes about the kitchen’s commitment to freshness—a far cry from the generic, reheated rice often found elsewhere. Frequent visitor Max Corona fondly recalls how he has been loyal to Nasai Teriyaki since 2006, touched by the friendly owners’ presence in the kitchen and the consistently high standards maintained over the years.
The atmosphere feels warmly informal yet inviting, with a team whose kindness leaves a lasting impression. One patron was delighted when staff complimented her partner with a playful comparison to Marilyn Monroe—a small moment that reveals the genuine care and friendliness permeating the restaurant’s vibe. Even in the strip mall setting, which some find less than glamorous, the food’s excellence shines through, proving that quality and heart can turn any location into a cherished dining spot.
Nasai Teriyaki’s spicy sauce has earned a devoted following, notably for those who crave an extra kick to their meal. Paired with the freshly grilled chicken or the crispy texture of the katsu, it creates an addictive fusion of heat and flavor that keeps customers coming back time after time.
In short, Nasai Teriyaki offers more than just a meal—it delivers a heartfelt culinary experience rooted in authenticity and genuine hospitality. Whether you’re in the mood for the rich, comforting taste of Mongolian Beef or a well-balanced tofu stir-fry, this restaurant makes every dish feel like a labor of love, inviting you to savor each bite and share in their story.
Service is good. The staff are friendly. The teriyaki is freshly made. I guess overall it’s a good spot for teriyaki.
Nasai Teriyaki is SO. GOOD. TLDR; Amazing quality food, price is right, big portions, great owners. I’d like to start this review out by saying that their rice is cooked to absolute perfection. It’s so good and sticky and unlike the obviously boxed rice their competitors use. I’m very picky about meat from restaurants because I absolutely can not stand the gross, chewy, fatty, gristle texture, so I usually stuck with the fried tofu. Their meat is the opposite of the gross “food” I just described. I saw my boyfriends food and saw that it actually LOOKED / smelled like real chicken, I actually tried some and was SO HAPPY IT WAS REAL CHICKEN! Their prices are low, portions are LARGE! It took me a couple of days to finish mine lol. Last but not least, the owners are awesome! Very friendly, kind, humble people and it was a joy getting to meet their family. I truly can’t recommend this place enough.
Been going here since high school (2006) Owners are super friendly you can find them in the back cooking your food. I live further north now and anytime my family is in Lake City neighborhood we make an effort to stop and eat and say hi. Food hasn't changed since 2006 and can always expect high quality. Thank you so much for serving me all these years, sorry it's taken me forever to do a review.
Everyone in here is so kind! They told my partner that they look like Marilyn Monroe! How sweet! Oh, not to mention the teriyaki is FANTASTIC. Amazing char, great serving size, great specials. Will be coming back often
Incredibly delicious Teriyaki. The strip mall is a tad shady so we don’t eat in, but over the past four years we’ve seen consistent quality in their chicken teriyaki and spicy chicken teriyaki. Wish their salad used some other greens besides lettuce (which basically adds no value). Their spicy sauce is what keeps me coming back over and over again!
I’ve been coming to Nasai Teriyaki for just over 10 years for my Teriyaki fix, and they’re consistently the best around. It’s actually hard for me to eat teriyaki elsewhere because Nasai is just that good. Things are made to order (and they ask me for level of spice!), and the resulting flavor is perfectly charred and absolutely delicious. I always get the spicy chicken & gyoza combo, but also love their chicken yakisoba. My household will always go out of our way to eat here when we have a teriyaki craving! Easy strip mall location with a parking lot, and the folks running this small business are so kind and hardworking. I hope to continue to visit for many more years!
I was visiting seattle and this place was right down the street from my Airbnb and this truly was delicious and amazing! Reasonably priced as well! I recommend every to try the Chicken and Gyoza!
